Most of the studies have focused on black cohosh’s ability to help manage menopause symptoms, specifically hot flashes. Menopausal women aren’t the only ones who suffer from issues like hot flashes. People with breast cancer have shown a decrease in symptoms like sweating.  Another study found that black cohosh was effective at improving sleep, which in turn can aid in weight loss, mood stabilization, increased energy and more. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25022210, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26000551

Additionally, molecules within the plant have been shown to reduce bone loss and increase bone strength. Recent studies have shown that the herb may help with symptoms of anxiety. Animal studies have shown that a compound in the herb has sedative, anti-anxiety effects in rats due to its impact on GABA receptors. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25161170, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17656322
